If you are hunting for a NordVPN discount code this November, the short version is that the code is not where the savings are. NordVPN’s own Black Friday price is already the lowest on its site, UK VAT gets added at checkout, and the cheapest way we found to buy NordVPN in the UK is a digital code sold on Amazon UK. This guide shows the real prices we checked on 4 November 2026, what each route costs including VAT, where codes and cashback fit, and when Surfshark is the better buy.

Last updated: November 2026. Prices were checked on 4 November 2026. NordVPN lists its Black Friday deal as running until 9 December 2026.

Short answer: A NordVPN discount code does not beat NordVPN’s own Black Friday price. On 4 November 2026 NordVPN’s pricing page listed the 2-year Basic plan at £2.69/mo (27 months, before VAT), and its own coupon page listed nothing cheaper. At checkout UK VAT of 20% is added, so the 2-year Basic total was £87.16, about £3.23/mo. NordVPN Basic 2-year digital codes on Amazon UK were cheaper at £50.99 (about £2.12/mo, 24 months), with auto-renewal optional. Surfshark One was £48.33 before VAT for 27 months, roughly £58 including VAT by our calculation. NordVPN lists the Black Friday deal as running until 9 December 2026, and Basic renews at £104.28 a year before VAT, so the low price applies to the first term only. Whichever route you choose, compare the total including VAT before you pay.

Best NordVPN deal for most people★ 8.0

NordVPN Basic (2-year + 3 months)

The official checkout, 10 devices and a 30-day money-back guarantee handled by NordVPN. The real cost is £3.23/mo, not the advertised £2.69.

Best if you use the extras★ 7.5

NordVPN Complete (2-year + 3 months)

Adds antivirus, a password manager, 1 TB of cloud storage and ID monitoring for about £9.72 more over the first term. It renews at a much higher price.

~£96.88 for 27 months incl. VAT (our calculation, 4 Nov 2026)

How we scored these. Each rating comes from the facts in this guide, not from a survey.

  • Surfshark One, 8.5: lowest first-term total, unlimited devices, bundled antivirus. Marked down because no renewal price is published.
  • NordVPN Basic, 8.0: official channel, 10 devices, 30-day guarantee. Marked down because VAT lifts £2.69/mo to £3.23/mo and it renews at about £125.14 a year including VAT.
  • NordVPN Complete, 7.5: useful extras for about £9.72 more upfront. Marked down for a renewal of about £195.70 a year including VAT.
  • NordVPN Ultimate Max, 6.5: dedicated IP and cyber insurance up to £5,000, but about £194.08 upfront and about £299.38 a year to renew.

NordVPN’s Black Friday 2026 deal: what it really costs with VAT

NordVPN advertises its 2-year Basic plan at £2.69/mo, but a UK checkout adds 20% VAT and the total comes to £87.16 for 27 months, about £3.23/mo (NordVPN UK checkout, 4 November 2026). The pricing page says “VAT may apply” in small print, so the headline number is not the price you pay.

The checkout for Basic, 2-year plan plus 3 extra months, showed £72.63, VAT at 20% of £14.53, total £87.16. Divide by 27 months and you get £3.23/mo. It also states a renewal price of £104.28 a year, with VAT possibly added.

NordVPN’s Black Friday page says the deal started on 21 October 2026 and runs until 9 December 2026. The headline reads “Up to 77% off + 3 extra months” and “From £2.69/month for a 2-year plan” (nordvpn.com/black-friday, 4 November 2026).

The tier names have changed too. NordVPN now sells Basic, Complete and Ultimate Max, and Plus is no longer on the pricing page (4 November 2026). Every tier covers 10 devices at once. For speed, streaming and privacy, see our full NordVPN UK review; this guide covers price only.

Does a NordVPN discount code beat the headline price?

No. A NordVPN discount code does not beat the Black Friday price. NordVPN’s own coupon page (4 November 2026) lists a 3-month plan at £6.09/mo, a 20-month plan at £3.39/mo and a 2-year plan at £2.99/mo, and every one costs more per month than the £2.69/mo 2-year Basic plan on the pricing page.

The coupon page says its offers are applied automatically and compares them with a £9.29/mo baseline, which is NordVPN’s own figure. The £2.99 2-year line is not labelled by tier and matches Complete’s price on the pricing page, so we read it as Complete rather than a cheaper Basic.

Coupon sites advertise “75% off” codes and YouTubers share their own. We did not test third-party codes at checkout, so treat any claim of a lower price as unproven until you see it in your own basket. The checkout has a “Got a coupon?” field. Apply the code, then compare the total with £87.16 for 2-year Basic including VAT, and skip it if it is not lower.

We do not have an exclusive TheTechVector code and will not print a code string here. NordVPN also says introductory prices are valid only for the first period of your subscription, so a code will not lower your renewal price either.

Where is NordVPN genuinely cheaper: Amazon UK, Groupon and cashback?

Amazon UK is the cheapest route we found. On 4 November 2026 a NordVPN Basic 2-year digital code cost £50.99 (Amazon’s RRP £84.99), about £2.12/mo over 24 months, against £87.16 for 27 months bought direct. That is £36.17 less, though you get 3 fewer months.

A NordVPN Basic 1-year code was £23.99 (RRP £42.99), about £2.00/mo. The product page says auto-renewal can be activated up to 14 days before expiry, so it stays off unless you switch it on. Amazon’s listed price is the price you pay, whereas NordVPN’s page prices exclude VAT.

Two things we could not verify: whether an Amazon code can extend an existing NordVPN account, and whether NordVPN’s 30-day guarantee covers codes bought there. Amazon’s digital-code return rules may apply instead, so check both first. Amazon also still sells older Standard and Plus codes, so check the title says Basic or Complete. We are not linking to Amazon here; search for “NordVPN Basic 2 Years Digital Code” and check the price yourself, because it moves.

Groupon UK was the next cheapest on 4 November 2026: 1-year Basic £44.17 (was £49.08), 2-year Basic £62.94 (was £69.93), 1-year Complete £51.73 and 2-year Complete £82.38. The fine print says the voucher expires on 3 January 2027, is limited to one per person, cannot be cancelled and is not automatically renewed. We could not confirm whether the “2 Year” option includes bonus months, and one on-page review described a redemption failure that Groupon did not resolve.

Cashback sits on top of buying direct. Quidco listed 32% cashback on 4 November 2026 for new members only, on the base VPN plan (not NordPass or other add-ons), not paid on VAT, with a stated wait of about 4 months. Our calculation: 32% of £72.63 is about £23.24, which brings 2-year Basic to about £63.92, or £2.37/mo over 27 months. TopCashback also lists NordVPN, but its rate and conditions were not visible without logging in, so we are not quoting one.

NordVPN price UK: every plan, term and renewal price compared

NordVPN’s UK prices on 4 November 2026 run from £2.69/mo for a 2-year Basic plan to £17.89/mo for monthly Ultimate Max, all before 20% VAT, and every plan renews at a higher yearly price. The first table shows what each plan costs once VAT is added, the second shows the page prices before VAT.

Ultimate Max£5.99£7.49£249.48
NordVPN page prices before VAT (nordvpn.com/pricing, 4 November 2026) and renewal prices from account.nordcheckout.com/legal/pricing (same date). Monthly plans before VAT: Basic £11.29, Complete £15.09, Ultimate Max £17.89.

Renewal is where the deal ends. Basic renews at £104.28 a year before VAT, about £125.14 including VAT (our calculation), roughly £10.43/mo. That first renewal is 44% more than the whole £87.16 you paid for 27 months. Complete renews at £163.08 (about £195.70 with VAT) and Ultimate Max at £249.48 (about £299.38). NordVPN’s renewal page says renewal prices may be subject to testing, so the figures can change. Annual renewals are charged up to 14 days before the renewal date, with an email notice first.

What do the tiers add? Basic is the VPN across 10 devices. Complete adds antivirus, a password manager, 1 TB of cloud storage and ID monitoring. Ultimate Max adds a dedicated IP and cyber insurance up to £5,000, and the UK is a covered country (nordvpn.com/pricing, 4 November 2026). Complete costs £8.10 more than Basic over the first 27 months before VAT (£80.73 against £72.63), about £9.72 with VAT. That is cheap for the extras, but its renewal is £58.80 a year higher before VAT. If you want to compare NordVPN with a rival before paying, NordVPN vs ExpressVPN covers the head-to-head.

Is there a NordVPN discount code for students, NHS staff and others?

Yes, but it is an eligibility discount rather than a code to paste. NordVPN lists an extra 15% off for students, graduates, teachers, healthcare professionals, first responders and military personnel, stacking on the 2-year Black Friday deal (nordvpn.com/student-discount, 4 November 2026). The coupon page names UNiDAYS as the route for students.

Our worked example, not verified at checkout: 15% off the £87.16 Basic total is about £74.09, or roughly £2.74/mo over 27 months. That is still dearer than the Amazon UK code at £50.99.

Blue Light Card holders may see a NordVPN offer in search results. We could not check it (members-only page), so look in your Blue Light Card app for current terms.

Does refer-a-friend work for existing customers?

Refer-a-friend is the one NordVPN discount that existing customers can use. The referrer gets 3 free months for each friend who buys, with no limit, and the friend gets 3 extra months on a 1-year or 2-year plan, or 1 free month on a monthly plan (nordvpn.com/refer-a-friend, 4 November 2026). We could not verify whether the friend’s 3 months stack with the Black Friday 3 months.

Is there a NordVPN free trial in the UK?

NordVPN’s free trial is limited to first-time Android users, who get 3 days through the Google Play Store (NordVPN Black Friday FAQ, 4 November 2026). Some coupon pages claim a 7-day mobile trial, which does not match NordVPN’s own FAQ. Everyone else relies on the 30-day money-back guarantee: you must request a refund within 30 days of the initial purchase through 24/7 support.

Is NordVPN cheaper on Black Friday than the rest of the year?

NordVPN’s Black Friday deal is cheap, but not the cheapest reported last year. The 2-year Basic plan is £2.69/mo on 4 November 2026, while TopCashback’s recap of the 2025 deal put Basic at £2.29/mo on a two-year plan with three months extra. That makes 2026 about 40p/mo dearer, assuming both are before-VAT page prices. Treat the 2025 figure as reported by TopCashback (read 4 November 2026), not confirmed by NordVPN.

Surfshark gives a cleaner before-and-after. Our Surfshark review recorded Surfshark One at £1.99/mo and One+ at £3.29/mo in September 2026. On 4 November 2026 One was £1.79/mo and One+ was £2.89/mo, so Surfshark has moved its prices down for Black Friday while NordVPN’s headline price sits above last year’s.

Will it drop again? NordVPN says Cyber Monday, Travel Tuesday and Christmas deals follow, with no 2026 prices published yet. Waiting is a gamble with a small possible upside. If you are weighing broadband sales too, our Black Friday deals timing guide covers how those windows tend to work.

Cheaper alternative: Surfshark’s Black Friday deal vs NordVPN

Surfshark One costs £1.79/mo on a 2-year plan, £48.33 for 27 months before VAT (surfshark.com/pricing, 4 November 2026), which is £24.30 less than NordVPN’s 2-year Basic at £72.63 before VAT. With VAT that is about £58.00, or roughly £2.15/mo (our calculation), only a few pence a month above the NordVPN Basic code on Amazon UK.

Surfshark Starter is the same £1.79/mo and £48.33 right now. One carries Surfshark’s “Black Friday deal” label and includes antivirus and Alert, so One is the better pick at the same price. One+ is £2.89/mo, £78.03 for 27 months before VAT. All plans cover unlimited devices, against 10 on NordVPN.

The catches: Surfshark does not show a renewal price on its pricing page, so we cannot say what year three costs, and it publishes no end date for the deal. Read the renewal price in the basket before paying.

Which NordVPN deal is right for you?

Want the lowest price?

Buy a NordVPN Basic 2-year code on Amazon UK (£50.99 on 4 November 2026) or take Surfshark One (about £58.00 including VAT). Both come in well under NordVPN’s direct £87.16. Check the Amazon refund and account terms first.

Want NordVPN’s official checkout?

Buy Basic 2-year direct for £87.16 if you want 27 months, NordVPN’s own 30-day guarantee and no doubt about account terms. It renews at about £125.14 a year including VAT.

Will you use the extras?

Choose Complete (about £96.88 for 27 months including VAT) only if you would use the antivirus, password manager, cloud storage and ID monitoring. Otherwise Basic does the VPN job for less.

Student, NHS worker, teacher or in the forces?

Claim the extra 15% on NordVPN’s page, which should take 2-year Basic to about £74.09 by our calculation. Compare that with the Amazon code before you decide, since the code is still cheaper.

Already a NordVPN customer?

Introductory prices are for new customers, so your realistic options are refer-a-friend and keeping an eye on your renewal date. If you are not sure NordVPN is the right VPN at all, our best VPN UK ranking compares the main options.

How to buy NordVPN at the lowest price: step by step

The lowest price takes about ten minutes of checking, because it moves between retailers. Prices below were checked on 4 November 2026.

  1. Pick your tier. Basic unless you will use the antivirus, password manager, cloud storage or ID monitoring in Complete.
  2. Check the Amazon UK price for a NordVPN Basic 2-year digital code (£50.99 on 4 November 2026). Make sure the title says Basic, not Standard or Plus.
  3. Open NordVPN’s pricing page and go through to payment, where the total including VAT shows before you pay. 2-year Basic was £87.16.
  4. If you qualify for the 15% group discount or have a coupon, apply it and compare the new total with the Amazon price. Only use it if it is lower.
  5. If you buy direct, consider cashback only if you are a new member of the site, and read its terms.
  6. Decide on auto-renewal. Direct Basic renews at about £125.14 a year including VAT, so set a reminder before month 27 ends.
  7. Use the 30-day money-back guarantee if the VPN does not suit you. Request the refund within 30 days of purchase through NordVPN’s 24/7 support.

Is there a NordVPN promo code available?

A NordVPN promo code can be entered in the “Got a coupon?” field at checkout, but we found no evidence that any code beats the Black Friday price. NordVPN’s own coupon page (4 November 2026) lists nothing cheaper than £2.69/mo for 2-year Basic.

How do I get 3 months free NordVPN?

Three free months on NordVPN come from the Black Friday 1-year and 2-year plans, which include 3 extra months (4 November 2026), and from refer-a-friend, which gives the referrer 3 free months per friend who buys. We could not verify whether the two stack.
