Oppo reveals Under Screen Selfie Camera: Oppo reveals the Under Screen camera tech at MWC 2019 Shanghai for taking selfies. So gone are the days of notches and motorised pop-up camera.
The Smartphone industry have come a long way from just a normal selfie (even dual) camera, to notches for the camera, to pop up cameras, all this to provide an immersive experience and edge to edge display. Now Oppo has unveiled a latest tech, Under-Screen Camera Technology, wherein the front camera will be located under the screen.
Oppo explained on its twitter about the camera tech, “It utilizes a customized camera module, an enhanced translucent panel material combined with advanced processing algorithms to take vivid pictures without a notch or motorized camera.”
Adding to this, Oppo explained about the Under-Screen Camera, “The algorithms behind our USC technology showcased at #MWC19 include haze removal, HDR and white balance resulting in a bezel-less phone, yet with a selfie camera that rivals current smartphones in the market today. “
Oppo is not the only company that has teased the Under Screen Camera technology, Xiaomi also has teased the same at the same time Oppo did.
It is not yet revealed by Oppo, when and which phone will have this technology. But we will update it as soon as we get more information about it.
