Samsung announces the Galaxy Note 10 series.

Samsung has launched the two variants of Galaxy Note 10 at the Unpacked event in New York

Samsung has launched the Galaxy Note 10 series, the standard Galaxy Note 10 and a Galaxy Note 10 Plus.This is the first time Samsung has gone with two phones in the Note lineup.The smartphones packed with features and power but there is also upgrades to the S-pen as well.

Samsung Galaxy Note 10 and Note 10 Plus

Design

Galaxy Note 10 and 10 Plus both have similar build with a metal body and glass on both sides. Both the phones have the Samsung’s Infinity-O display with punch hole in centre of the phone for the front-facing camera. The screen size is where the difference is, Galaxy Note 10 comes with a 1080p 6.3 inch Super AMOLED Display whereas the Galaxy Note 10+ has a 6.8 inch Quad HD AMOLED display. The displays on the both the phones are HDR 10+ certified.

The fingerprint scanner on the Note series is now ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanner similar to the Galaxy S10 series. The right side of the phones is completely clean with no buttons. On the left side, there is the volume rocker and the power button. Oh where is the Bixby button, it is gone. But Samsung has now mapped the bixby to the power button. Single tap on the power button will turn off/on the screen and long pressing it will activate Bixby.

On the top, there is the SIM card slot with dual SIM Slot support depending on the country. There is also MicroSD card upto 1TB (Hybrid SIM Slot) only for the Galaxy Note 10+. Now to the important thing missing from the two phones, there is NO Headphone Jack. Yes, Samsung has finally ditched the 3.5mm jack.

Performance and Power

Both Note 10 variants comes with a Snapdragon 855 processor. Note 10 has a 8GB/12GB RAM with 256GB storage option, where the 12GB/256GB is only available for the 5G model and the Note 10+ 12GB RAM with 256GB or 512GB internal storage options. There is Android PIE out of the box with Samsung’s OneUI.

Galaxy Note 10 has 3400mAh and 4300mAh on the Galaxy Note 10+ with Super Fast Charging and with Wireless charging 2.0. Galaxy Note 10+ has the support for Super Fast Charging 2.0 which has an incredible 45W charging. The smartphones has Wireless Powershare which reverse wireless charges smartphones and other devices like the Galaxy buds similar to the Galaxy S10 series.

Camera

Galaxy Note and Note 10+ both has one standard wide angle 12MP lens dual aperture f1.5 and f2.4 with OIS , one 12MP telephoto lens f2.1 with OIS providing a 2x optical zoom and 10x digital zoom and one Ultra-wide 16MP lens and a LED Flash. The difference in cameras for the two smartphones is that, the Note 10+ 2 additional lens for depth labelled as DepthVision Camera. There is single front facing 10MP f2.2 selfie camera.

S Pen

Samsung has also upgraded the S Pen and added a feature called as Air Actions where you can control the phone by moving the Pen. Using this feature, you can play-pause videos, navigate through a presentation etc. Additionally, the phone now converts to text format whenever you write something using the S Pen. There is the Screen off memo, where you can add a note by simply taking the pen and write/draw on the screen and save or pin it. The S Pen is Bluetooth enabled, IP68 certified and has 10 hrs standby battery backup.

Colors

The Note 10 and 10+ is available in Aura Black, Aura Blue, Aura White and Aura Glow. Additionally Note 10 has Pink and Red colors as well.

Pricing

The Galaxy Note 10 starts at £899/$949 for the 8GB RAM and 256GB Storage option. The Galaxy Note 10+ starts at £999/$1099 and the 5G Model starts at £1099/$1299. Both the devices are available for Pre-Order.
